Amaranthus - Annual
Dangling, beaded ropes of burnt-red, chenille like flowers accented by green foliage. Reseeds itself.  Native Americans used this as a source of grain.

Amaryllis- Perennial bulb
Christmas bulb with giant 6 inch trumpet shaped red/pink flowers!  Grows rapidly to 2.5 feet and blooms through the holiday season.  Can be grown outdoors in warm climates.  It will bloom outdoors if cramped in a container during summer months. Likes a dry period.

Agapanthus Giant Blue/White Mix - Perennial
This bulb is ideal as a cut flower in areas that are zone 8 or warmer. These refined and irresistible plants produce large round heads of true blue and lavender flowers atop 3 foot stems in summer. They are superb container plants and are excellent near pools. Leaves are thick and strap-like. Winter hardy to zone 7, or to zone 6 with protection.

Alyogyne - Blue Hibiscus - Perennial
The flowers are hibiscus-like, appear from spring through summer to autumn, are 3"-5" in diameter, and range in color from pink to lilac, mauve and deep purple, sometimes with a paler eye. White and yellow forms also occur. The individual flowers are short-blooming, only lasting a day or two, but new flowers continue to open over a long period.

Armeria -  Perennial
The Armeria Formosa is a hardy perennial, displaying 1 to 2 inch round flowers in shades of pink, rose, and red. The Armeria Formosa blooms in the spring for 4 to 8 weeks. In mild climates, they can bloom all year. Even though Armeria does great in coastal climates, it will do wonderfully anywhere. It is a sturdy and dependable plant.

Asclepias Curassivica - Monarch Milkweed
Butterfly Weed is a native North American wildflower with exceptional drought tolerance and which flowers in color hues from yellow to orange.  Do you part to provide the migrating monarch with it's larval host plant.  Let's keep this beautifu flying flower alive for many generations to come!

Aster - Hardy
Aster requires full sun, but can take some afternoon shade, in a moderate soil range with good drainage that does not become extremely dry during the summer.  Makes an excellent container plant or front of the garden feature and looks great with ornamental grasses.  Butterfly and Hummingbird attractant.

Bachelor's Button is a popular and gorgeous cut flower!  It is also known for self-sowing.  Butterfly and hummingbird attractant. It is a must for English gardens!

Basil - Herb Fragrant. 
Used in many recipes. Plant in sun amongst tomatoes.  Companion plant with tomatoes for a natural pest deterrent. Provide even moisture and pinch flowers for a long growing season.

Calendula
They are very adaptive to soils types, as long as they are in well drained soils. The soils should be kept moist but not soggy. Plant in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, and in warm climates plant in late summer or early fall for winter/spring bloom. The Calendula is a long lasting cut flower and looks great planted in masses, such as in borders, parking strips and containers.

Cinnamomum Camphora- Camphor Tree
Fifty feet tall by 60 feet wide Semi-Deciduous Tree with beautiful canopy!  Broadleaf evergreen and fragrant.  Leaves show no fall color.   Black/blue fleshy berry seeds in fall attract birds, squirrels, and mammals.  Zones 9-11 only.

Castor Beans
The "stalked leaves consist of usually eight radiating, pointed leaflets with slightly serrated edges and prominent central veins. Many stamens are near the base and branching pistils are near the top of the flower. The soft-spined fruits containing attractively mottled seeds are distinctive features of the plant.

Cerinthe - Blue Honeywort
In leaner, drier soils, plants grown in full sun may only reach two feet in height, while those grown in light shade and poor soil are generally compact and rarely over a foot and a half high. Like so many Mediterranean natives, this handsome herb is as drought tolerant as rosemary, sage or thyme.

Chinese Fox Glove
A dramatic bloomer for your shade garden and it makes a stunning cut flower. Foxglove begins blooming in spring and blooms for 6 to 8 weeks. One of the few flowering plants that flowers well in the shade and it will take some sun. The Foxglove requires a slightly acidic, sandy, well drained soil with quite a bit of organic material. It prefers to be moist.

Columbine
Should be planted in full sun to partial shade in fertile, moist well-drained soil.  Columbine is a profuse self-seeder so it should be planted 12-18” apart. It is best used in rock gardens or in containers and for beds and borders, in cottage gardens and it attracts butterflies. Enjoy this popular flower in your garden or as a cut flower.

Coreopsis
Drought-tolerant and tough but do need well-drained soil. It should be cut backing early and late summer to extend the bloom period. Coreopsis looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass plantings in sunny gardens.

Cosmos Mix
Cosmos prefer full sun, but they can withstand a little shade. They will thrive in average garden soils. Do not over fertilize or over water. Plant this Cosmos in the spring after the last average frost date. They are excellent colorful bedding plants for low maintenance, dry areas and are great for cut flowers. They attract hummingbirds and butterflies.

an tolerate some drought but grows
best when provided with a sunny location and a rich,
well-drained soil. In warm climates, the plant quickly forms large colonies by self-seeding and multiplication of the corms. This is an indication of its tolerance for heat and humidity. After the foliage matures the corms can be dug and stored through the winter.

Crysanthemum-Mixed
Delightful flowers from summer through fall!  Coast to coast color!  miniature varieties of deep to pale pinks, and candlelight yellows.  Long lasting fragrant cut flower.  Great for flower arrangements!

Delphinium Blue White Mixed Larkspur
Delphinium needs a rich moist soil that is well drained in a sunny location and should never experience drought. A must for any cottage garden, remove spent heads to produce more growth throughout the season.

Digitalis - Foxglove Mix
Digitalis should be planted in full sun but will tolerate morning shade. It blooms early to mid summer. Being a major attraction to bees, butterflies and birds, it is a must in any garden. Try planting it in woodland gardens, as a border plant or cut-flowers. Remember to leave some dead flower stalks to self sow for future flowers. (All parts of Digitals are poisonous if ingested and can be invasive.)

Echinacea - Purple Coneflower
Purple Coneflower Echinacea will perform in full sun or light shade. In very hot summer climates, provide some afternoon shade. Well drained soil is a must for Echinacea Coneflowers as they cannot withstand standing water. Plant in early spring, 3 to 4 weeks before the last frost or as late as 2 months before the first fall frost. They make excellent cut flowers and borders

Echium fastuosum - Pride of Madera
This is commonly known as the "pride of Madera", and is a perennial, shrubby species with royal blue and occasionally pale blue flowers on short spikes up to 0.5m (20") long. It has soft foliage, usually grayish green, and will tolerate light frost. It will seed reasonably freely and will hybridize. It is usually grown from seed, though good forms may be grown from cuttings.

Fleabane- Santa Barbara Daisy
It is a rough-looking plant, well marked by its soft, hoary foliage, and large terminal flat heads of bright yellow flowers, single, or one or two together, about an inch across, large in proportion to the size of the plant, the ray florets very numerous, long and narrow, somewhat paler than the florets in the center or disk.

Forget Me Nots
This creeping plant produces blue flowers in mid
to late summer. Another name for the plant is Water Forget-Me-Not which alludes to its capability to tolerate wet soils.  See our all occasion seed packs for use in memorial seed packs.

Gay Feather
Disk flowers occur on spikes and have a balloon-like appearance due to flat green bracts surrounding the flowers. Flowers open from top to bottom.  Pick when the flowers at the top of the spike show full color. Grows well in garden and does fine in poor soil.

Gazania Mix
Gazania grows well in rock gardens or in hot, dry areas. Good soil gives best growth but the plant tolerates poor, sandy soil. Gazania requires less water than most annuals. Full sun is preferred and the flowers do not open on wet or cloudy days. Removing the old blossoms will increase the number of flowers produced.

Gerbera Daisy Mix
Produces brightly colored flowers on long stems. The plant can be grown in pots and the flowers are good for cutting. Flowers are cut when the outer row of petals show pollen. If cut sooner, the flowers will wilt. Use a loose, well-drained soil containing good amounts of organic matter. An acid soil prevents chlorotic plants.
